Pray for Tokyo: Snow

If you've been watching the news recently you may have heard that Japan is having a very unusual winter. It's snowing, snowing, and still snowing. Japan has seen record snowfall all over the country. Some places haven't seen this much snow since the 1800's. There have been thousands of accidents and at least 20 deaths connected to the snow. In Tokyo, a train carrying dozens of passengers was stranded between stations and the passengers were forced to spend the night on the train.

Tokyo has received over 2 feet of snow with more on the way. The city usually receives much less snow and therefore does not have a plow system in place. Though conditions are bad many people still have to go to work. My facebook is littered with comments from friends in Tokyo talking about having to leave hours early just to get to work on time.

This week Pray for Tokyo and the rest of Japan as they battle the weather:

  • Pray for the christians, as they live out Christ-like attitudes among their neighbors and peers during such a difficult time.
  • Pray that churches would be a blessing to the city as they serve their communities during this difficult season and seize gospel opportunities.
