A Karis Identity: Learners

For those of us who are in Christ, our identity has been radically changed. He has paid for our sins. We are children of God. At Karis Church, we believe that core identity flows into six additional, fundamental truths about who we are.

One is that we are learners.

We are disciples of Jesus who take responsibility for our own development and the development of others.

Jesus learned and grew as a man led by the Spirit. He called disciples to follow Him and do the same. He still summons people today to be His disciples or learners. As fallen sinners, we easily fall back into pride and stubbornness toward God and others. However, God’s purpose is to turn us into humble, willing men and women who long to learn about the Lord in His Word and by His Spirit. Generally, the Lord uses other Christians to do this.
