Heading to Nagoya
As I mentioned last night, we are heading to Nagoya today. We will be meeting up with some new friends there at CBI, which is Christ Bible Institute, a seminary that trains pastors in Japan. We will spend some time with Rob Boyle, a missionary there from Wichita. Jeremy Writebol and I will meet with Michael Oh, who until only recently led up CBI. The Rices, Writebol, and I will also take a quick train ride to Osaka, where Josh and Laura will meet with Joseph Kim, a man who is about to launch Genesis International College there. Josh is considering moving over here after he finishes his PhD to teach American History and Western Civilization. It should be a full but good day.
We enjoyed our time in Nagano. It is a very picturesque place with lots of mountains and rice fields. It is a popular vacation spot for the Japanese. I can see why. Lord willing, I'll come back and show my family one day.
I'm definitely missing them. I think Hadley may be almost ready to come. However, I think I'll need to start with a place that doesn't cross so many time zones (Rio!). I think the jet lag would be really tough on a kid. Also, we walked over 20,000 steps in Tokyo the other day. Not many 9 year olds could handle that.
More later. Grateful for you all.
