Jeremy on "Why Church?"

Jeremy Linneman, a Karis intern and great friend, has some great things to say about the church here. A great quote:

Why screaming kids?

Finally, why go to a church that lets screaming babies & shifty gradeschoolers disrupt the flow of the worship gathering? Because God loves kids. Jesus thanked God that He hid the true mysteries of the kingdom of heaven from learned scholars & instead revealed them to little children (Luke 10:21). Jesus later rejected His disciples for trying to shush the kids while He was preaching. He responds, "Let the children come to me, & do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it" (Luke 18:16-17). Children are the purest sign that God is at work. Children represent growth & change. A church full of children is a beautiful thing. Remember God's instructions to Jeremiah on how to please Him: "Take wives & have sons & daughters" (Jer. 29:6). A screaming kid in the back row of church is pure evidence that the grace of God is at work in a community.
