Acts 29 Event This Week
This week we're hosting the first ever Central Missouri Acts 29 Quarterly. Below is the information I've publicized already. See below that for another special announcement related to that day. Leading The Vision Every church planter should have a vision for a church and for his city. How does he go about formulating that vision? And, once he has grasped that, how does he go about sharing it with the people of his nascent congregation, as well as the people he encounters in his missional context?
On June 5th, 2008, Karis Community Church of Columbia will host the first Central Missouri Acts 29 Quarterly Luncheon for Church Planters. Karis, a member of the Acts 29 Network, will begin providing these luncheons, Lord willing, every quarter to encourage and challenge area church planters.
Our guest speaker will be Jonathan McIntosh, a pastor at The Journey in St. Louis, and a regional leader of the Acts 29 Network, an interdenominational network of churches planting churches.
Who Should Attend? Church planters, current or potential, as well as other pastors or leaders interested in initiating a gospel-centered, missional movement in their area.
How Much is the Event? Free, including lunch (please RSVP).
When? Thursday, June 5th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where? Shakespeare's in downtown Columbia (9th St.)
Note: Please RSVP to Karis intern Ryan Worley at ryan.s.worley@gmail.com. Forward this to whomever you think may be interested, but space is limited, so prompt RSVPs are critical.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Also, we will be hosting a special Whiteboard Session beginning at 9:30 a.m. before the quarterly meeting. The site is TBA. Follow this blog to see where we'll meet. What is a "whiteboard session?" It's when we throw out topics as peers in church planting and discuss them. I've been on these sessions before, and they're incredibly helpful. Email me if interested.
