An Update on In-Person Gatherings (05.22.20)
This afternoon, I sent out this to our broader “Loop” list. Here’s what the City and County’s new order means for the life of our church:
You may have heard that the City of Columbia and Boone County moved us into step two of their “Road to Reopening” today. Here’s how step two will look in Karis Church, beginning Monday, May 25th. Again, this closely follows the guidelines laid out by the city.
With gatherings limited to 50 people or less, we will continue Sunday Gatherings online.
On-site church activity will continue to be limited to our maintenance, custodial, and staff teams. However, MC leaders may reserve space on the lawn, or in the Activities Building or Fellowship Hall for MC gatherings.
Tenant activity will resume on a case-by-case basis in the Activities Building.
All ministry activity, including MCs, will be limited to groups of 50, maintaining strict social distancing. This new phase will now allow for whole MCs to gather - almost exclusively outside of the home.
It is still our desire to resume Sunday Gatherings, though in a modified fashion, around the start of step three, which is expected to begin Tuesday, June 23rd. Keep an eye out for more details to come.
