Brazil Spring Break 2017: Partnership
In just over a month, Karis Church will send 14 people to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, for 10 days. 2017 is Karis’s 8th year of partnership with an Acts29 organization in Rio called Restore Brazil.
One of Karis’s three guiding principles is community. God’s gospel community knows no bounds; it loves and learns past physical and cultural differences. It empowers Karis Church to partner within our city, with our missionaries and with Restore Brazil to further the name of Christ and the story of His sacrifice.
Karis is partnering with other churches and believers in our city to see the gospel furthered in Brazil.
Of the 14 people traveling to Brazil, three of them are not Karis members. LegacyPoint Church Pastor Scott Claybrook and LegacyPoint member Isaac Cundiff will join us along with Eric Prieto from Valley View Church. This is the first year we have partnered with other churches and our hope is that this will increase our partnership in mission in Brazil and in Columbia.
Karis is partnering with our missionaries on the ground in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2014, Karis sent Eric Papp to work as a full-time missionary with Restore Brasil. In 2015, we sent Jessica Fleshman on the same mission. A focus of our trip in March will be to spend time with and encourage Eric and Jessica in their work and in their walk with Christ. We will be the hands and feet of Jesus in partnership with them for the 10 days we’re there.
Our work with Eric and Jessica reflects a bigger partnership with the organization Restore Brazil.
Since 2009, Restore Brazil has focused on raising up and equipping pastors, planting churches, and serving Rio’s impoverished areas. Karis gives regularly in support of Restore Brasil.
On the ground in Rio, the team works alongside Restore Brazil in mercy ministry, leading Vacation Bible School as well as praying and sharing encouragement with those in need. We visit churches, lead worship, preach and participate in small groups. We build relationships in Brazil year after year.
