A Change in How Giving Works

Effective at midnight on Friday, September 23rd, we’re no longer using The City to handle our giving. Instead, we’re switching to a new platform called GivingFire, which will help us steward donations better, and give everyone more options with giving going forward. This includes giving online, as well as new giving kiosks on Sundays and coming soon, Text-to-Give. Many of you are already using GivingFire to support our missionaries and church planters.
Fun Fact: Did you know, Karis family and friends gave over $17,000 to Karis missionaries and church planters in the month of August? What a blessing to our partners in Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Jefferson City, and Fayetteville!
We’ve already moved over all donation records from The City to GivingFire seamlessly. If you had an account on The City, you’ll be able to create a new account on GivingFire with the same email address and view all your historical records. If you had a recurring donation set up on The City, that’s also been migrated to GivingFire – you do not need to take any action. And if you already have a GivingFire account, your giving records and recurring donations from both platforms will merge into your already existing GivingFire account.
Also with the transition, now is an great time to have all members and regular guests review your reoccurring giving. As you familiarize yourself with the new giving platform, take time over the next few weeks to work through your personal/family finances, discussing what faithful giving looks like for your household.
If you are new to GivingFire, follow the instructions below to set up an account. Reminder: use the same email address as whatever one you used with the City.
Go to our new online giving page at karischurch.givingfire.com or you can find it by going to karischurch.org and clicking Give in the top navigation bar.
Click “Create an Account” at the top of the GivingFire page.
Enter in your information, verify your email, then sign-in to your new GivingFire account.
Click “My account” to review reoccurring giving and your giving records (imported from the City).
