Karis Church

Karis is heading to Brazil. Should you be, too?

Do you have a love for Christ?Do you have a desire to expand your worldview? Do you love children? Do you have an interest in short term missions? Do you have plans for Spring Break 2016? Would you consider Rio de Janeiro as a place to go on mission?

Karis Church has a strong and growing relationship with an Acts 29 organization based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We’ve sent team after team to work with Restore Brazil, Karis member Eric Papp serves there as a long term member of Restore Brazil, and Karis member Jessica Fleshman leaves this fall to join their team.

Karis, as a church, prays for the people of Brazil on a daily basis. While there we strive to best serve the current needs of Restore Brazil. In the past this has included visiting a community suffering from an addiction to crack, working in different favellas across Rio, helping with youth services and multiple worship gatherings at different church plants and of course, eating fabulous Brazilian food.

Going forward from the mixed success of the World Cup, Brazil and the people of Rio de Janeiro are preparing for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Rampant corruption and brokenness mar the beauty of the landscape and the people of Brazil.

There is a great need to show the love of Christ and the true redeeming power His grace provides.

Three reasons you should go:

1. Your view of God will grow. He is a global God and the church is so much more than what we see pictured in America.

2. See what you’re supporting! Karis gives to missions in Brazil, Japan and elsewhere. When we see the needs and the work being done, it encourages us to give faithfully and with joy.

3. Short-term trips are where long-term missionaries start. Going breaks down our fearful or romanticized views of missions and it suddenly becomes something that you COULD actually do.

Will you join us this year?

The trip will take place March 26, 2016 through April 4.

To apply, fill out and submit the online application by September 20, 2015. You’ll find complete costs outlined near the bottom of the application form.
