Wipe that disrespectful smirk of your face, Mike. And, by the way, go home. This is a pic showing his reaction to Coach Haith after Mizzou's man apparently didn't appreciate Anderson jawing with Missouri players. I haven't put up a sports post in awhile. Here goes.

• Our Upward basketball season is about to wrap up. My son, J. Hadley, has been doing great playing for the Wildcats. I'm coaching and my friend Michael Schembre is assisting me. I've been pleased with the improvement of our kids. Can anybody help with one thing, though? How do you teach 3rd and 4th graders to block out? I've tried about everything!
• I've just begun coaching, along with my friend Gordy Bryan, a team at Parkade Elementary. This is a great opportunity to serve our city, coach my son, and be around this sport I love. We'll be practicing the next few weeks with our season beginning April 6th.
• Gordy and I are hosting, along with our Worley Street Park MC, another basketball clinic on April 14th. More details are here. Help us spread the word, please.
• Mizzou is playing its best basketball right now. Hadley and I had a great time at the game Tuesday night against Arkansas. Finally, our highly talented team is attacking the basket and playing decent defense. Playing at Tennessee on Saturday will be a test, but I expect our team to go deep in the tournament this March. I like our chances matching up against anyone.
• Who's been Mizzou's best player as of late? Who could be an all-SEC or POY candidate? Keion Bell. The guy struggled to find his role at the beginning of the year, but he's turned out to be our best all-around player. He gets attention for his dunks. Those are fun and exciting, but I could honestly care less. Keion always guards the other team's best player (assuming he's a guard). He is an excellent rebounder. He's a great passer. He's a reliable dribbler and back-up point guard. Basically, he does all the little things you love to see as a coach. He may be the best in the nation at taking the ball to the hoop, and, when you lead (or nearly lead) the SEC in free-throw shooting percentage, that's a great thing. It's a reminder to all of us that you don't have to be the best shooter in the world to be the most dominant player on the court. He's not. Who cares?
• Much was made of Mike Anderson's return on Tuesday. Count me as one of those who isn't a fan of the guy. I have no problem with him returning to Arkansas. That was home to him. It was the way he left that I saw as the problem. Telling everyone he would retire here just a couple of weeks before. Taking off without saying goodbye. Leaving behind family friends (Pressey and Bowers) with what seems like little concern for them. Not impressive. Beyond that, though, I'm a huge Haith fan. He's a better coach! Look at the offenses the two teams run. Watch the flow. Look how disciplined Missouri is. Plus, Haith is a much better recruiter. Ironically, Anderson couldn't sign B.J. Young to play at Mizzou. Young is now forced to play for him at Arkansas. Coach Haith will keep our best Missouri kids in state.
• This Arkansas game might end up being a great rivalry after all. We may forget completely those from the west about whom we do not speak. I hope they enjoy their "rivalry" with Kansas State.
