Theology Weekend 2008 Just Ahead (Updated, Directions)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 10.24.08Columbia congregation Karis Community Church will hold her second “Theology Weekend” November 7-9. The weekend of theology lectures will be headlined by Friday night’s “Only One Way? A Forum and Discussion about Jesus and Salvation.” Taking place at 7:00 p.m. on November 7th in Keller Auditorium (Mizzou’s Geology Building), the night will feature a conversation between Dr. Bruce Ware, Professor of Christian Theology at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and Dr. Paul Moessner, Senior Pastor of Saint Andrews Lutheran Church in Columbia, with concluding time for questions from the audience. A last-minute addition to the panel is Rev. Kristin Powell from Columbia's Unity Center. “Theology Weekend’s” slate of events is as follows:

To get to Keller Auditorium, park downtown, near the Mizzou campus's Francis Quadrangle (where the historic columns are found). Then walk toward the columns on 8th Street, heading south. As you get to the circle drive there, look to your right. The Geology Building, where Keller Auditorium is found, is on your right. Call 823-4130 if you have difficulty finding it.

Dr. Ware is a highly esteemed theologian and author in the evangelical world. He came to Southern Seminary from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he served as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biblical and Systematic Theology. Prior to this, he taught at Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and at Bethel Theological Seminary. Dr. Ware has written numerous journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews and, along with Thomas Schreiner, has co-edited The Grace of God and the Bondage of the Will and Still Sovereign. He also has authored God’s Lesser Glory: The Diminished God of Open Theism, God’s Greater Glory: The Exalted God of Scripture and the Christian Faith, and Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: Relationships, Roles, and Relevance.
