Hangin' in the 'Ville I
Having a super trip so far. We came in last night just in time for Sojourn's 7:00 service. It was great. Our buddy, Chip Stam, had his fingerprints all over what they did. Their liturgy walked through the gospel, using the historic Christian flow that Sojourn's dudes learned from Chip. Professor Stam taught me, as well, and I'm so grateful. And I'm really grateful to be staying in his house these few days. The amazing thing about Chip is I haven't seen him in about 3 years, but it feels like it's been a day. He is the most loving, hospitable, fun, and I might say nutty, friend I know. What joy to be with him! Luke is talking to him now, soaking up his vast knowledge about worship.
We're heading to Sojourn at noon to meet with Nathan Ivey who directs Seed for Sojourn. We're launching something similar in the fall and want to learn from him.
Back to Sojourn-- Daniel Montgomeryspoke on Romans 8, and it was amazing. He is such a gifted teacher.
